The ALS team has gained a new member as of mid-April and we couldn’t be more thrilled!
Chris (Nutty) Nutt joins the team as our Operations Manager – Environment and Community and brings with him a wealth of experience and professionalism. He has over 15 years of experience working in the environmental and Aboriginal cultural heritage conservation sector, including key roles on multiple large and complex co-design conservation planning projects between government and Traditional Owners.
He has vast experience and knowledge in working across government departments with Traditional Owners to generate mutually beneficial outcomes. Having worked in conservation planning, policy, science and management plan implementation roles, Chris has a unique, full picture view of jointly managing conservation reserves in Western Australia.
He has extensive networks in the sector and a well-honed skillset for working in cross-cultural contexts – something that is recognised within government, industry and Traditional Owner communities and corporations.
Chris is a strong supporter and promoter of Aboriginal community empowerment and conserving the globally unique natural and Aboriginal cultural and heritage values in Australia.
ALS’ Principal Director Bill Bennell says, “In having the pleasure of working with Nutty previously, I am confident he has the mix of professional and inter-personal skills to work with our Nyungar mob and other mobs across the country to maximise opportunities for co-design of Country management and community empowerment. I can’t wait to see what he does.”
Welcome to the ALS family Nutty, we’re stoked to have you!
