Welcome to the ALS Team, Carmen King!

We are thrilled to welcome Carmen, our new Central Services Officer, to the Aboriginal Land Services (ALS) team. Carmen is a proud Yamatji and Nanda woman with a deep-rooted passion for Aboriginal culture and heritage. As a mother of six, she has lived in the Busselton area for the past eight years, with prior experience in Perth where she spent most of her adult life.

Carmen is enthusiastic about her new role at ALS and eager to broaden her understanding of the Wajarri culture, history, and heritage. Her commitment to learning and preserving Aboriginal traditions reflects her strong belief in the importance of knowing and respecting our country, not just for the past, but also for the present and future generations.

“We are very happy to welcome Carmen into our Central Services team,” says Bill Bennell, Principal Director at ALS. “It’s great to have a strong central point for the operations of ALS, and now we have three Aboriginal women at the heart of this team.”

Carmen’s dedication to understanding and honoring Aboriginal culture is evident in her desire to engage with and learn from the Noongar People. Her belief that the story of our land should never be forgotten is a testament to her commitment to keeping the legacy of Aboriginal heritage alive.

We look forward to seeing Carmen’s positive impact on our team and the broader community as she brings her unique perspective and passion to ALS. Welcome aboard, Carmen!
